Newthex doors features on newly christened HNLMS Den Helder

The Royal Netherlands Navy’s new Combat Support Ship (CSS), HNLMS Den Helder, has been officially christened. This marks a significant milestone in the vessel’s journey toward full operational deployment. Newthex is proud to have contributed to this state-of-the-art naval vessel by supplying a range of specialized doors and a hatch.

For this project, Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding awarded Newthex two contracts to provide high-quality, tailor-made solutions. Our scope of supply includes hydraulically-operated shell doors, granting access to the gangway and shore connection, as well as top-hinged elevator doors and a container hatch. These products meet the highest standards of durability, automation, and safety, being water- and gas-tight as well as fire-rated.

Newthex has a strong focus on naval projects alongside its well-established presence in the superyacht industry. Our commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability ensures that our products meet the demanding requirements of both sectors. Collaborating with Damen on this defense project reinforces our expertise in providing advanced access solutions for naval operations.

The christening of HNLMS Den Helder is a proud moment, and we are honored to have played a role in equipping this crucial support vessel. We look forward to continuing our contributions to naval markets with our tailor-made solutions.
